What is CaseTrust For Education?
The CaseTrust for Education scheme has been customised specifically by CASE for the education industry in Singapore. The scheme will enhance the confidence of international students and their parents in the quality of education in Singapore.
The regulatory framework focuses on building trustworthiness, professionalism, as well as business and academic excellence. It has two tiers - first, an essential or mandatory tier, which requires Private Schools to ensure high quality student welfare practices and standards and gives Private Schools the right to enrol international students. Second, a voluntary tier, tied to privileges, is focused on enhancing business and academic excellence. CaseTrust for Education is part of the essential tier under the regulatory framework.
From 1 September 2005, all PEOs that want to enrol international students will need to have CaseTrust for Education status. A PEO that achieves CaseTrust for Education is certified as an organisation that possesses the foundation for good quality student welfare/protection practices and standards. The PEO will have the following mechanisms in place:
-
Well-Trained Personnel who will understand every student's needs before recommending the most appropriate course
-
Standard Student Contract for students who enroll with them
-
Tuition Fee Protection for all International Students. Local students can also enjoy this protection if they opt-in in their Student Contract
-
Clear Fee Policies

For Childcare Centre and Kindergartens, they are not required to obtain CaseTrust subjected to meeting certain requirements. Please refer to the press release here for more information.

Disclaimer: CaseTrust certification does not in anyway represent an endorsement or accreditation of the quality of the courses offered. Prospective students of CaseTrust certified private schools are advised to find out more about them, the quality of the courses and the background of the local organisation that facilitates the delivery of the courses before making a decision to enrol in the course of study.
Students are strongly encouraged to fully understanding the terms of the Standard Student Contract and seek clarification whenever necessary before enrolling in the course of study.

How Do I Check Whether My Tuition Fees Are Protected?
CaseTrust accredited schools are required to put in place tuition fee protection for all international students. Local students also enjoy this protection if you choose to opt-in for the Student Protection Scheme. Be sure to keep a copy of Standard Student Contract (Refer to Annex A1 & A2) signed by the school.
Do take note of the following to ensure that your fees are protected under the Student Protection Scheme which your school has put in place:
o For Escrow - Remember to deposit tuition fees directly into the Escrow Account. Do not pay the school or the agent out of convenience.
Students who face problem with the above situations can seek immediate assistance from CASE.
